Employment Opportunities
The Institute for Advanced Systems Engineering (IASE) at the University of Connecticut solicits applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in one of the Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Computer Science & Engineering Departments to conduct research, education and outreach related to systems engineering.
Graduate Fellowships
PW Endowed Graduate Fellows Program attracts exceptional students for graduate study leading to Masters or Doctoral degrees in the field of systems engineering related to model-based design and development of complex systems. The program cultivates ties with the PW business units, works closely with UConn faculty and PW scientists and engineers, and helps meet the critical needs of the nation in the design of high performance, reliable and cost-effective systems.
Graduate Internships
The PW-IASE works with United Technologies Corporation as well as other industries in Connecticut to find suitable internship opportunities for graduate students pursuing Systems Engineering studies and research interests at UConn. The interns typically work to support the implementation of cutting edge model-based tools and processes with the goal of improving strategic decision making in engineering organizations.
Breakthrough Award
The PW-IASE is pleased to announce the initiation of the “PW-IASE Breakthrough Award". The priority of the PW-IASE Breakthrough Award is to provide an award to recognize innovative, transformational and disruptive contributions in the field of advanced systems engineering. The amount of the award shall be $50,000 in the first year the prize is awarded, and may be adjusted with time.
