Qian Yang
Assistant Professor
Computer Science and Engineering
Dr. Qian Yang is an assistant professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Connecticut. She completed her Ph.D. in 2018 from the Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering at Stanford University, and holds a B.A. in applied mathematics/computer science from Harvard College. Her research lies at the intersection of computational science and the physical sciences, with an emphasis on machine learning for materials, physics, and chemistry applications. Before joining UConn, she was a postdoctoral scholar in the Materials Computation and Theory group at Stanford University. She previously worked in industry in cloud-based healthcare software development, and lead software development for a smart medical device start-up.
